Join us for a two-day archery adventure with three rounds and a shoot-off to wrap things up!
Expect 38 targets, plus one special Challenge Shot to keep things interesting.
Archery800 has its own format it’s all about having fun, staying sharp, and completing the tasks your way!
Equipment classes
If a shooting class has fewer than six archers, female and male archers will be combined.
NO binoculars or monoculars, no rangefinders
CLASS 1- Wooden Bows
Class 1 – Wooden Bows: Self bows, primitive bows.
Natural material limbs without any fiberglass lamination. Arrows can be of any material. At least one finger must touch the arrow nock, and only one anchor with a defined anchor point required.
CLASS 2 – Traditional Longbow
Class 2 – Traditional Longbow
Longbows of any length which are shot off the shelf. Arrow rests, sights, and stabilizers are not allowed. Arrows can be of any material. At least one finger must touch the arrow nock, and only one anchor with a defined anchor point required.
CLASS 3 – Traditional Open
Class 3 – Traditional Open
Recurve bows (and longbows), which may be equipped with a non-adjustable, elevated arrow rest. Arrows can be made of any material. At least one finger must touch the arrow nock, and only one defined anchor point is allowed. Sights, stabilizers and buttons, plungers, and similar devices that influence arrow flex (archer’s paradox) at the shot are not allowed.
CLASS 4 – Open
Class 4 – Open
All other recurve bows. Technical aids are allowed. Arrows can be made of any material. For example, Barebow, Olympic recurve or similar.
CLASS 5 - Join-In Class
- All bow styles / ages together
- Scores may be kept personally, but
- No official ranking / no scoreboard / no awards pressure
- Participation-focused
AGE classes
- Gents: Men aged 18 and over
- Ladies: Women aged 18 and over
- Super Seniors: (Ladies & Gents combined): 70 and over. (Shooters over 70 may choose either Super Seniors or gents or ladies class.)
- Juniors: All bows; Male and female combined from ages 13 to 17 years of age
- Youngster: All bows; Male and female combined, age 12 and under
Scoring
‘KILL’ means the whole kill zone
Scoring 2-Arrow Round
38 Target rounds
> 1 and 2 arrow hits the kill: Score each arrow 10 points;
> 1 and 2 arrow body hits: Score each arrow -2 points;
> 1 and 2 arrow miss: Score each arrow 0 points.
Scoring 1-Arrow ‘Hunter’ Round (if in place)
38 Target round
> 1 Arrow Hits the Kill: 20 points
> 1 Arrow Hits the Body: -5 points;
> 1 Arrow Miss: 0 points
‘Challenge Shot’
‘Challenge Shot’ 4 arrows in all rounds:
38 target round:
Each of the four arrows that hits the kill zone or completes the challenge as explained on the course scores 10 points per arrow.
(If all four arrows hit the kill zone or complete the challenge, the total score is 40 points.)
A score of 0 points is given if the kill zone is not hit or the challenge is not completed (challenge shot only).
Juniors & Youngsters do not lose any points for missing the kill. Body hits are scored with 5
🏆 AWARDS
Awards will be given to the top three archers in each class, based on their scores in the main rounds. We’re happy to celebrate their skill and effort in the event.
🏆 The Archery800 Champion – Final Shoot-Off
At the end of the main rounds, the top four archers in each category will move on to a special shoot-off to determine the Archery800 champion. The exact format may change from year to year, adding a touch of surprise, fun, and challenge while keeping the competition fair and exciting. It’s our way of finishing the day with a little extra energy and Archery800 spirit.

If you’d rather decide last-minute, you can still register on the morning of the shoot.
